Install Tailscale from the download page or Microsoft Store, then run the connect command in PowerShell as Administrator.

Install the Tailscale menu bar app. Homebrew users can install it from Terminal, then run the connect command once.

Devcontainers

After your laptop is connected to the VPN, open your provisioned devcontainer workspace from a local terminal.

Install the VS Code Remote SSH extension.
Add this host block to your local SSH config.
Run the VS Code workspace command shown below. Connecting to the SSH host alone opens an empty remote window; open the workspace path there if you use that flow.
